Upon graduation from high school, Chef Awo pursued a degree in fashion merchandising, another area of interest. She married, became a mother to two wonderful sons, and relocated to Paducah, Kentucky, where her husband encouraged her to attend culinary school. It was there that her love for cooking soared even higher. The pure joy and excitement on people's faces when they tasted her food was the confirmation she needed that being a chef was what she was meant to be.
Chef Awo and her husband expanded their family with the birth of their daughter during her final semester of school. Chef graduated, as scheduled and with honors, from culinary school and went on to secure a position as a corporate chef. She continued to refine her skills and then launched several successful culinary businesses. Today, Chef Awo is the head chef for Eh’vivi Ghanaian Cuisine and the creator of the popular BisKrunchies - a gourmet granola and cookie company. Chef Awo is driven and she’s on a mission – to share her talent and passion, and to educate and delight guests with the delicious flavors of Ghana.
